Free music tools for singers

Quick answer

MR Maker's free tools help you prepare a song before you sing it: measure your vocal range with your microphone, find the key and BPM of an audio file, and transpose a track up or down by up to six semitones while keeping the tempo. All three run in your browser, need no account, and never upload your audio.

Privacy: your audio never leaves your device

This tool runs entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API. Microphone input and the files you open are analysed in memory on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to MR Maker or any other server, nothing is recorded, and closing the tab discards everything.

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools really free?

Yes. The vocal range test, the key and BPM finder and the key changer are free to use with no account and no limits on how many times you use them. They run on your own device, so they cost us nothing to serve. MR Maker's AI vocal remover is a separate, paid service.

Do the tools upload my songs or recordings?

No. Files are decoded and processed in your browser, and microphone audio is analysed live in memory. Nothing is sent to a server or stored.

Which tool should I start with?

Start with the vocal range test to learn your lowest and highest comfortable notes. Then use the key finder to see what key a song is in, and the key changer to move it into your range.

Do the tools work on phones?

Yes, in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet and Firefox. Long files take longer to process on older phones, so a laptop is faster for full songs.

How is this different from MR Maker's paid service?

The free tools analyse or transpose the audio you already have. The paid service uses AI to separate the vocals from a song, so you get an instrumental (MR) to sing over, with optional key change.

Need the instrumental, not just the key?

MR Maker is a paid, credit-based AI vocal remover. Upload a song you have the right to use, and it removes the vocals so you can practise or perform over the backing track, with an optional key change. The price is shown before you start.
