What to check
- Mark a section with clear drums or sustained instruments in the source.
- Replay that section in the instrumental at a comparable listening volume.
- Write down changes separately from noise already present in the original.
How to use the result
Test any questionable section while singing along. A file that sounds acceptable in isolation may still be awkward to rehearse with, while a small remaining vocal may not interfere with your particular practice task.
